Welcome to your Dubbo Chamber Newsletter - Badiya!

Yep it’s Springtime already! (Could someone please tell the weather).

In this weeks Newsletter we are announcing some details about our October breakfast featuring the annual Dubbi REI talk and presentation. Don’t forget we still have next weeks Breakfast too with Mark McCrindle.

Last night (Monday), some of the Chamber Board met with Dubbo City Council Councillors and Staff for an informal gathering which has become a regular feature to strengthen bonds between the two. Thanks to the Mayor for hosting us.

Chamber Breakfast - September 9 - Mark McCrindle.

Sponsor: Iki Fit Dubbo

Guest Speakers: Mark McCrindle

The speaker for our September breakfast is Mark McCrindle. Mark is an award-winning social researcher, best-selling author, and influential thought leader, and he is regularly commissioned to deliver strategy and advice to the boards and executive committees of some of Australia’s leading organisations.

Mark is visiting Dubbo for two days in September, speaking at some of our schools etc. He has been kind enough to offer some of his time to come and speak with the Business Leaders of Dubbo (that’s you).

Mark will be speaking on understanding the emerging trends and what they mean for business, how to attract and retain the next generation of staff, and how to better market and connect with customers in a social media world.

Marks visit to Dubbo is made possible by one of our new Chamber members - System State IT.

Venue for this breakfast is the Savannah Room at the Zoo. Bookings are now open and have already started selling well. Don’t miss out - this could be another sell out.

PLEASE NOTE - the Breakfast is September 9: A Tuesday, and not the first week of the month as usual.

Would you like to have a dose of business inspiration and be challenged to take a look at your business model and where you’re going?

  • Do you struggle to position your value in the marketplace?
  • Do you feel as if you give away too much?
  • Has it been some time since you looked at your prices?

If you’re like the majority of women who feel that they over-deliver and under-charge, then you’re going to want to discover how to uncover your value and charge what you’re worth.

Abbie Widin is brought to Dubbo with help from The Quality Inn

Join us at Sticks and Stones Pizza Cafe on Thursday, September 18.

Just a quick note about our October Breakfast. NSW Business Chamber will be launching their campaign for the NSW State Elections early next year and will speak for about 10 mins. Rod Crowfoot will then give the annual talk on Development in Dubbo on behalf of the Real Estate Institute.

The REI breakfasts are always extremely popular and I’d suggest booking early again for this one.

EMS - Eastern Mechanical Services - New Name & Website from Sept 1.

Eastern Mechanical Services Pty Ltd now EMS Group Pty Ltd.

EMS has changed its Business Name to EMS Group Pty Ltd, and from the 1st September 2014 EMS will have an exciting new look to accompany this change, with an accessible and modern website.

Being part of the Your Dubbo program has allowed us to consider where our customers are making contact with our business, and it was clear quite quickly that this was not through our front doors. Winning one of the Your Dubbo Business Development Grants has allowed us to expand our new website, offering a mobile responsive website for smartphones and tablets and host an online business that services our current and prospective customers locally, nationally and internationally without requiring relocation.

It was found that in changing our name, we were opening up our services; no longer restricted by geographical or service oriented limitations, EMS has defined its principal offerings in 5 core services; EMS Workshop, Labour, Hire, Sales & Parts.

See the new EMS website for more information.
