Macquarie Home Stay provides affordable and appropriate patient and family accommodation for the over 200,000 people of Western and Northern NSW who have to travel to Dubbo for medical treatment. Stage 1 opened in January 2019, subsequent stages will be built as funding permits as there's a great need for more accommodation due to the hospitals continued redevelopment and expansion. A large percentage of our guest cohort stay in the weeks prior to delivering their child, however many come to Dubbo for specialist appointments, cancer treatment, surgeries, accident and emergency, general and surgical admission and more. We are removing some of the cost barriers to accessing health care in a timely way for many rural and remote communities, providing a better quality of life and less time away from family and employment. We are a registered charity with the ACNC, and have deductible gift recipient status (DGR). |
