Peter has been the Managing Director and CEO of Downer Group since February 2023. Mr Tompkins joined Downer in 2008 and was appointed General Counsel in 2010, before stepping up to the role of Group Chief Operating Officer. 

Peter has represented Downer on numerous Boards including Keolis Downer, Evolution Rail and Reliance Rail.
