Course Overview
This 5-day face-to-face SafeWork NSW approved course aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil your role as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in NSW.
HSRs in New South Wales are entitled to attend this SafeWork NSW approved five-day training course within three months of making a request for training to their PCBU. Employers are required to allow the HSR to take time off work to attend this training. HSRs are also entitled to attend one day refresher courses every twelve months, commencing one year after the initial five-day course has been completed, as per the Work Health and Safety legislation.
Course Contents:
Day 1 – Interpreting the WHS legislative framework
Day 2 – Establishing representation in the workplace
Day 3 – Participating in effective communication
Day 4 – Monitoring PCBU’s management of WHS risks
Day 5 – Issuing of Provisional Improvement Notices
Upon successful completion of the 5-day HSR course, participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
