2013 Rhino Awards Finalists to be Announced at Cocktail Party at Zoo

Members of Dubbo’s business community are waiting in anticipation of next month’s announcement of the Orana Mutual 2013 Rhino Awards finalists.

The finalists in 21 awards categories will be announced at the Sponsors and Finalists Cocktail Party at Taronga Western Plains Zoo on Thursday, 12 September from 6pm.

Chamber President, Andrew Toole said that with the theme Flying High, this year’s Rhino Awards provided the business community with a chance to celebrate the exceptional achievements that make Dubbo businesses outstanding both locally and further afield.

“This year marks the 18th Rhino Awards and we are very excited about how the process is unfolding, particularly with the use of an online entry process and the involvement of a panel of expert judges from outside the local area this year,” Mr Toole said.

“We are looking forward to the chance to celebrate with the finalists of the Rhino Awards at the Savannah Room and to acknowledging this year’s sponsors, without whom the Rhino Awards would not exist.”

This year’s judges were:

Debbie Marchant             BNG Property Group, Coffs Harbour

Ellie Brown                          NSW Business Chamber, Bathurst

Sam Hain                             Regional Integrated Marketing, Orange

Darren Leaney                  Retail Specialist, Coffs Harbour

Bill Miller                              Business Development, Armidale

Gretchen Armitage         Economic Development Manager, Bathurst

Richard Walker                  The Competitive Institute, Sydney

Will Creedon                      Hunter Tourism, Newcastle

Tickets for the Sponsors and Finalists Cocktail Party are available from the Chamber’s website and cost $33 for Chamber members and $49 for non-members.

“The awards build-up has been a very exciting process and shows us that there are people out there with big ideas who are working hard to ensure that local standards remain high,” Mr Toole said.

“This cocktail party is a chance for us to acknowledge the high standard of entries and to thank our sponsors for their continued support.”
